Supporting Children with Burns

A website, designed with parents and carers, specifically to support families of children who have had a burn injury.

This website contains information and further links  to help support parents or carers of children and young people who have experienced a burn injury of any kind or size. When a burn injury happens to someone you care about it can be as distressing for you as it is for them. Other adults, such as grandparents, might also find this resource helpful.
Experiencing an injury can be very distressing for children and their families. However, these feelings usually improve over time. As parents, the most important thing you can do is to learn what to look out for, support your child and ask for help if you need it.  You may find this leaflet, produced by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist the the South West UK Children's Burn Centre helpful:
